When assessing the options of each path that lies at the crossroads of a decision, whether it is for your personal or professional life, gaining clarity in which direction to head is essential. One of the best ways to do this is to ask yourself a series of questions to help provide insights and create an overview or base for comparison. Ultimately, this can help you to find the information with which to make the best decision possible.

Be as upfront and honest as possible when answering these questions.
1. What do you need? Or said differently, “What are you missing?”
2. What do you want? Note: there may be similarities and differences from the previous question.
3. Why am I looking for change?
4. What are your strengths and areas of growth?
5. What is your current perspective(s)?

In the next blog post of this series, Crossroads Part 3: Write Your Own Job Description, we give you a sometimes challenging, but also often exciting, exercise to go through to further help in your decision making process and change management.

If the answers to the questions above are hard to decipher and organize on your own, this is where a life coach can come in handy to help you gain clarity and help sort your thoughts and drive action.
